Pete and Dolly Zweig, owners of Sublime Subs both grew up on the east coast – Dolly in Pennsylvania and Pete in New Jersey.  Pete worked in the food industry for several years before he, Dolly and their two daughters moved to Cable, Wisconsin where Pete worked as Food Service Director at the Wisconsin Wilderness Campus of Philadelphia Biblical University and Lake Owen Gymnastics Camp.

Owning a deli of sorts was a long-time dream of Pete’s. 
“When I was in high school, I worked at a small luncheonette. It was a lively place – filled with people from the neighborhood, community leaders, business people, even the Mayor ate there regularly.  I loved the idea of people gathering together over exceptional food and agreeable company.  It was then I realized I wanted to own a place like that some day.”

Where Pete knew about food, Dolly understood what it took to own a business OR what it took to be self-employed. “I grew up in a family that owned a business.  So I was comfortable with the idea of owning our own shop someday. Where Pete’s gifts and experience are in the food end, I’m more “business-minded”.  It’s a good combination.”

Opened in May of 2007, Sublime Subs is a “supreme sandwich experience”.  Their subs are “stacked and packed” featuring natural meats and fresh vegetables prepared daily in the shop.  Meat lovers and vegetarians alike will enjoy the diverse menu selections.  If you don’t see one exactly as you like they will build it for you.  Sublime Subs also features homemade soups and salads, fresh baked brownies and gourmet dessert bars.

Sublime Subs believes that a good meal is not just good food but a good “whole experience”.  “Our food is prepared and served by a friendly staff in a comfortable atmosphere with walls that are adorned with local art.”  Pete and Dolly believe that if you try their shop you will understand why they named it Sublime Subs.
